Flat Zombies is a 2D zombie shooter built around fast aiming, shooting, movement, and survival. You take on crowded locations filled with undead enemies and must keep them from getting close. The action focuses on accuracy and quick reactions, with different zombie types and weapons adding variety to each encounter.
In Cleanup mode, the pressure increases as you move through more corridors. The number of zombies grows with each corridor, making careful movement and accurate shooting increasingly important. Three lives are provided at the beginning of a run, giving you several attempts to push farther through the level.
Move flexibly in Flat Zombies
The game includes several modes with different survival rules. Defense mode centers on holding your position as zombie numbers increase, while Dark Office adds a noise indicator and requires careful movement because zombies attack when you move. Other modes include Hospital Corridors, Rooms, Street, Rescue of People, Cleanup of Bridge, and Training.
Rescue of People introduces an important restriction because living doctors must not be killed. Cleanup of Bridge divides the zombie crowd into smaller groups, creating a different rhythm from standard corridor battles. Training provides access to the available weapons for practice.
On PC, movement uses A and D or the arrow keys, while the mouse handles aiming. R reloads your weapon, and Q switches between weapons. F is used to enter or pick up objects, E performs a kick, and Esc pauses the game. Mobile players use the on-screen controls for movement and other actions.

Keeping zombies at a safe distance is central to survival. Aim carefully rather than firing without control, and reload before your weapon becomes a problem during a crowded encounter. Switching weapons can also help you respond to changing situations.
Pay attention to the rules of each mode before committing to a strategy. Dark Office rewards controlled movement because zombies react when you move, while Defense requires you to deal with an increasing number of enemies. In Cleanup, staying focused becomes especially important as each cleared corridor brings a larger threat.
